As an Invasive Cardiovascular Technician at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:

  • Provides monitoring and technical support for full range of invasive cardiovascular, IR, and/or neuro procedures that are performed within care sites Cardiovascular Lab and is seen as a resource to physicians for best selection of supplies to successfully perform cases OR is an EP Tech who excels in dedicated, advanced EP procedures and can support other procedural types in care sites where EP Tech is not solely dedicated to EP procedures. Provides patient care under the supervision of the Physician.

  • Assists physicians in radiological imaging and monitors patient during procedures, maintaining sterile conditions as required. Operates imaging equipment and works in the control room monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.

  • Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and about the expectations of the procedure. Teaches patient and family about pre and post procedure physical conditions.

  • Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit. Maintains appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures. Collaborates with the Inventory Coordinator to maintain and control the supply and equipment inventory par levels for the department.

  • Promotes and models appropriate open and effective communication among staff, patients, and providers.

    Maintains constructive, positive working relationships with other IP units and support staff. Demonstrates a high level of expertise with Cardiovascular systems, including trouble-shooting skills and seeks out opportunities to identify cost effective alternatives for staffing, equipment, and supplies while maintaining high level quality of care.

  • Completes daily, progress and discharge documentation according to departmental standards. Accurately documents productivity information.

  • Provides leadership for quality and patient safety initiatives. Identifies potential areas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction, solve operational problems, reduce costs, or improve efficiencies. Identifies potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff and leads efforts toward remediation.

  • May be asked to support ongoing clinical education/skills development of student and/or Cath Lab Tier I caregivers as Preceptor and provides feedback to Lead Tech/Cath Lab Manager regarding knowledge/skill gaps and development as Cath Lab Tech.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or Certification required
  • Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS is required or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification or RCIS or RCES required.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS is required.
  • Surgical Technologist License must be obtained within 3 months from hire date in the State of Colorado.
  • Four (4) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$37.46 - $57.80
